Technical Q&As: Networking
Rendezvous is Apple's implementation of zero-configuration IP networking. By using Rendezvous, devices can allocate addresses without a DHCP server, translate between names and IP addresses without a DNS server, and locate and allocate directory services without a directory server. Hardware and software developers can enhance the user experience of their products by using Rendezvous to eliminate the need for users to configure IP settings.
